Regional scene: Sky Sox edge Beavers on late hit

Sean Barker's eighth-inning RBI single lifted the Colorado Springs Sky Sox to a 6-5 win against the Portland Beavers on Sunday in a Pacific Coast League game in Portland, Ore.
NUGGETS ROLLING Bobby Jones scored 18 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 92-79 win against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday in the Vegas Summer League.
Coby Karl, son of Nuggets coach George Karl, scored 13 points for the Lakers.
On Friday night, Dahntay Jones scored 29 points for the Nuggets in a 105-104 win against the Rockets.
RAMS TO BE INDUCTED Former Colorado State quarterback Anthoney Hill, who helped lead the Rams to their first Western Athletic Conference football title, in 1994, heads five inductees this fall into CSU's Hall of Fame.
Former women's basketball center Teresa James Hinz, track standouts Drew Loftin and Richie Harris, and three-sport stalwart Ollie Woods also will be inducted.
REED DEED Boulder resident Matt Reed, who has qualified for the U.S. Olympic team, won the Boulder Peak Triathlon on Sunday, outlasting Simon Lessing, of Boulder.
Penticton, British Columbia, resident Angela Naeth won the pro female race; Berthoud resident Craig Greenslit won the men's amateur race; and Boulder resident Brooke Davison won the women's amateur race.
HAPPY DAYS Windsor driver Happy Ferree won the Pro Truck race Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway in Erie.
Nick Burton (Arvada, Mini Sprint), Frank Denning (Arvada, Modified Coupe), Dennis Edwards (Golden, Super Stock) and Lee Kemmit (Thornton, Sportsman) also won races.
* John Hansen, of Brush, won the Modifieds race Saturday at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan.
Stephen Beck (Denver, Mod- Lites), Ken Robbins (Brighton, Econos), Greg Gustus (Fort Lupton, Sport-Mods) and Chris Walker (Mini-Stocks, Fort Morgan) also won races.
