MANSION MAKEOVER

Colorado first lady Jeannie Ritter is launching a new project - the Governor's Residence Preservation Fund - as part of the centennial celebration of "Colorado's home." The fund will pay for repairs, restorations and enhancements to the 100-year-old residence, and allow for an expansion of public programs and tours at the facility and grounds.

* Built in 1908, the Governor's Residence at the Boettcher Mansion became the official residence of the first family in 1959. The mission of the fund is to establish a sustainable endowment through fundraising and sponsorships.

TOO ECUMENICAL?

Extra! was perusing an advance copy of Denver Archbishop Charles J. Chaput's new book, Render Unto Caesar. We don't presume to pass judgment on this treatise about "living Catholic beliefs in political life," having only skimmed the text.

But we did notice the biography the publisher printed in the back is that of Stephen Schwartz, a Muslim and author of The Two Faces of Islam.

Oops.
