Lakewood police officer William O'Shell killed his wife, Tiffany Cuinn O'Shell, and himself in a murder-suicide last month near Commerce City.
That was the conclusion reached by Commerce City police after autopsy results were completed.
On June 30, the couple were found dead in the bedroom of their Henderson home, apparently from gunshot wounds.
William O'Shell, 30, was scheduled to talk to Commerce City police July 1 about allegations that he abused his 3- month-old daughter.
Tiffany Cuin O'Shell, 25, a former Lakewood police officer, had concerns about how her husband had handled the baby.
The daughter had multiple leg fractures when she was placed in foster care in June.
Friday, Commerce City released an update to the investigation, indicating that William O'Shell had shot his wife twice in the head before turning the weapons on himself.
"He placed two guns in his mouth," said Joe Sandoval, Commerce City Police spokesman.
Three Glock pistols were recovered from the bedroom.

20 years ago you didn't have the internet reporting every little thing and you didn't have the liberal media so enamored of the pro-crime gun-control movement that they put any bad actor w/ a gun on the front page.

It is very true that we have more reported and more access to media reporting. That increases the perception of more behavior like this. But at the same time, I think that we are less prepared and capable of handling the stresses of life and many live in a very unstable environment. They were brought up in an unstable family situation, watching brainless tv shows, and being unpreductive as children. Then as adults, they have not matured to adult level qualities and expectations, and become frustrated and confused. In additon, we don't have adequate mental illness treatment (insurance or programs) and people with those problems don't get the care they need.

the doomsday, sky is falling crowd want the rest of us to buy into the bs that something drastic needs to be done, for instance, "quit selling bullets"(where are you "artstarzz?) or more programs or treatment (thanks milehigh).
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make em drink. Society will always have the hopeless who won't SEEK help, that's what FAMILIES or for or possibly INSTITUTIONS.

Sounds like he had PTSD. The symptoms mentioned seem to suggest this. Many officers do develop PTSD during there careers esp. SWAT officers. Sad story tho.

raoul, calling what police officers go though "stresses of the modern world" is foolish. He probably did have something along the lines of PTSD like SL10 wrote.
